For tax years 2021 and later Form 8915-F has replaced Form 8915-E.
Follow the instructions below to successfully complete Form 8915-F:
1. Select Add Form.
2. Select Form 8915-F. Double-click to add the form.
3. Select the checkbox for tax year 2020 on Line B.
4. Select Worksheets.
5. Complete Part II for retirement plans other than IRA's. Complete Part III for Traditional, SEP, SIMPLE, or Roth IRA's. You will enter the applicable amount from the taxpayers 2020 and 2021 tax returns. Enter any repayments as needed.
For example, if the taxpayer withdrew from a non IRA retirement plan. You would look at Line 9 from 2020's 8915-E and and Line 13 from 2021's 8915-F. You would enter those numbers as shown below.
6. Navigate down to the bottom of the worksheet and enter T or S for the taxpayer or spouse and an X for COVID.
